Hi friends! A few weeks ago, I showed you some fun Sandwich Art that I created for my little guy, and now I’ve got 3 fun sandwich recipes to try just in case you’re looking for more lunch or even quick dinner ideas for your family. I don’t know about you, but as much as I love to cook, sometimes adding a tasty filling between two slices of bread really hits the spot, especially when you’re short on time or energy!
This week has been especially busy, so I had my helpful hubby stop by Walmart on the way home and pick up a few things I needed. So when Hubby came home with three loaves of Nature’s Harvest® Bread, I was slightly surprised, but since it’s only $1.97 per loaf, he got a super deal!
Plus, he got three different varieties, which is perfect for a house filled with picky eaters and a picky mom who insists on using whole-grain bread whenever possible. This bread has at least 8 grams of whole grains per serving and contains no artificial colors, flavors or high-fructose corn syrup. You can see the whole-grain stamp right on the packaging.
Since we had whole wheat, honey wheat and wholegrain white, I decided to make a variety of different sandwiches and let our kiddos choose their favorites.
Honestly, one of the best things about a dinner like this is the easy clean-up — no pots, pans or anything else to worry about, which is a nice change now and then!
For the peanut butter lovers, I made peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a drizzle of honey on honey wheat.
I also made turkey with avocado, tomatoes and cheddar on whole wheat. This was my personal favorite! And since some of the kids don’t like mayo, I used the avocado as a spread instead of adding mayo.
Some of the kids love ham and don’t mind mayo, so I fixed ham, lettuce, tomatoes and provolone cheese on the wholegrain white bread.
I served some chips and pickles on the side, and let everyone dig right in. They all loved these sandwiches, and the Hubs and I loved the fact that we didn’t have a ton of stuff to clean up.
Are you picky about using whole-grain bread? According to a recent survey, it seems most people are, but Nature’s Harvest wants to know more. If you’re among the first 100 people to complete this quick survey, you can receive a $5 Walmart gift card. (must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen)
