I haven’t made any new sugar scrubs since Christmas, but this dry winter air is really doing a number on my skin, and moisturizers alone just don’t cut it. The girls have also been complaining of dry, itchy skin, so I decided it was definitely time to make another kind of moisturizing scrub.

Since it’s February and Valentine’s Day is around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect time to make chocolate sugar scrub.

Actually, if you love chocolate as much as I do, anytime is a good time to make chocolate sugar scrub!

Basic sugar scrubs consist of sugar, oil and usually a fragarance or essential oil. This one is just slightly different.

For this scrub, I used a combination of granulated sugar and brown sugar. Since this scrub is all about the chocolate, I wanted the darker color and deeper scent of the brown sugar. But, it didn’t really have the firmer consistency I wanted.

So, I did a little experimenting, and I found that a combination of white and brown sugar was perfect for this scrub. Then, add some cocoa powder, coconut oil and vanilla, and you’re good to go!

The girls and I tried this chocolate sugar scrub out, and we absolutely loved it. Seriously, if you want a chocolate fix without the calories, you have to try this! It smells amazing, and it’s almost good enough to eat. Well since it’s all natural, you could probably taste a tiny bit, but it’s better if you just use it topically!

You could even add other scents if you want, but personally, I love the vanilla. I might try a chocolate peppermint combo for Christmas, though!
