Easy barbecue chicken sliders are made with grilled chicken tenders basted with a sweet and smoky bbq sauce. These little sandwiches take about 15 minutes to make and are perfect for summer cookouts!

One of the things I like best about spring and early summer is that the weather is perfect for grilling. It’s so easy to make dinner on the grill, and clean-up is a breeze, which is always a plus for me! We bought a new patio set recently, and we try to eat outside whenever we can. Before you know it, it’ll be too hot!

One of my girls is in middle school — need I say more? Oh, the drama! I got an earful when I picked her up from school yesterday, so I knew that dinner had to be quick, easy and completely fuss free. But it still had to taste amazing!

So we stopped at the market, and I bought a package of chicken tenders, and I decided to make some easy barbecue chicken sliders. For grilling, I like to use chicken tenders. Since the cuts are small, they take less time to cook, and that means that I can get dinner on the table in a hurry.

There wasn’t a lot of time to marinade the chicken, but the tenders don’t really need that much time. I used a few spices to season the meat, including some chipotle powder for a little extra kick. And then I tossed the chicken into a large zip-top bag and added some olive oil, and the juice of one lime.

I even tossed the lime in too.

Whenever I grill tenders, I use heavy-duty foil instead of placing the chicken directly on the grill. It’s just easier this way, and prevents the meat from sticking to the grill.

And, oh, the sauce! I bought some new Heinz Kansas City BBQ Sauce since I didn’t have time to make my own. It’s rich, thick and has a sweet and slightly smoky flavor,  which complements the chipotle in the marinade.

This particular flavor is the result of a partnership with the regional pitmasters of Kansas City, Joe and Mike Pearce, of Slap’s BBQ. If I ever visit that city, I know where to go for dinner!

Plus, Heinz sauces are all natural, which I love! And they come in several varieties, which means you can use them to create so many different mouthwatering recipes.

The sauces come in squeezable bottles, which makes them ideal for grilling. Instead of pouring the sauce into a bowl and brushing it on the meat, I just poured some directly onto the chicken tenders — easy peasy, and there’s one less bowl to wash!

I gave the tenders one coat of sauce on both sides, and then I went back and added more.

You can never have too much sauce!

I also bought a bottle of Heinz Classic BBQ sauce so the family could add a little extra if they wanted.

I served the chicken tenders on slider buns and topped them off with shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Then, we added even more sauce to these easy barbecue chicken sliders before we dug in. It’s been said that you eat first with your eyes, and a sandwich dripping with sauce is so incredibly inviting.

My family loved them, and we enjoyed a relaxing dinner on the patio — drama free!

That’s the next flavor on my list to try. I’ve had the Texas and Memphis. I really wanted to participate in the KC one, but I’ll just have to make your sliders, instead!5 stars
