You know, one of the best things about the holiday season has got to be eggnog! I remember drinking it from my special Santa mug when I was a kid, which seemed to make it taste even better.

Now, my kids go crazy for this stuff, and one of their favorite ways to enjoy it is by indulging in a tasty slice of eggnog pie. It’s cool, creamy, and you only need 5 ingredients to make it!

  • Eggnog
  • Pie crust — graham cracker or frozen pie crust
  • Jello Instant Pudding Mix
  • Cool Whip or non dairy topping
  • Nutmeg

I started serving this no bake pie for dessert at Thanksgiving and Christmas a few years ago, and my oldest daughter has now made it her specialty.

We love this holiday pie so much that my daughter always makes two at one time. This way, we can enjoy some for dessert on the actual holiday and have more the next day.

My daughter likes to add a little bit more whipped topping as a garnish and some additional nutmeg over the filling — yum!

The pie is light and fluffy, so it’s the perfect ending to a heavy meal, and no one can say they don’t have room for dessert! It also goes great with a cup of coffee, Instant Pot Hot Chocolate or eggnog — double yum!

This was simply delicious! Family preferred this as a frozen pie.5 stars

  2. Staci W says:

This may be a silly question… For the 2 Cups of whipped topping, are you using a 16oz container? Or 8oz and measuring out 2 cups?
    Thanks!

    1. Dee says:

I measure out 2 cups. If you use an 8 oz container, you will still have some left over.

  3. Danielle Letendre says:

Does this freeze well? I made 5 for Christmas LOL

    1. Dee says:

Yes, you can freeze the pies and thaw in the fridge when you are ready to eat them.

  4. Dori L. says:

Just Wondering. I was only able to get 2% Eggnog. Would be good to bump up the fat by adding 35% whip cream to replace part of eggnog to make 1.5 cups ?

    1. Dee says:

I haven’t tried that so I can’t say if it would work. The flavor may be different.

  5. Mel says:

    Can this pie be frozen?

    1. Dee says:

Yes, you can freeze the pie.

  6. Tess M says:

Didn’t quite set after SIX hours. Followed the directions exactly and seemed good, but when I cut it open it was a wet mess sadly. Good flavor though.

    1. Dee says:

We have honestly been making this pie for years without any problems. Did you measure out 2 cups of whipped topping? There would be some left over from an 8-oz container. Did you use regular whipped topping and pudding mix instead of lite? Did you use instant pudding instead of cook and serve?

    2. Paige says:

I agree – check the Coolwhip. Mine didn’t set either. I was positive I got regular coolwhip but when I double checked on the side in small print it said reduced fat 🙁 trying again tomorrow with the regular stuff!

This is the easiest and most delicious dessert to make and has become an annual must-make for my family since I discovered this recipe last Christmas. I make this version for my family and a vegan version with Califa Farms Holiday Nog and SoDelicious Coco Whip and both are absolute perfection.5 stars

    1. Angela Landgrebe says:

I tried to make it today and it didn’t taste very eggnogy… if that makes sense. I did realize that I mixed it all together versus folding it in. Is that why?

    2. Dee says:

Mixing it together may affect the texture but probably not the flavor. It might be the brand of eggnog?
