Can you believe Christmas is only two weeks away? Yikes — wasn’t it just Halloween? Anyway, I made a centerpiece for my dining room table and I really like how it turned out. Best of all, it was easy and didn’t take much time at all, which is perfect for me! Well, I did start out by using the wood box that I used for my fall centerpiece, so that saved a lot of time, but still, I pretty much just added a few things to the box, and called it a day. Now, you all know how much I love rustic anything, so I just had to make a rustic Christmas centerpiece.
I almost painted the box white, because I’ve been using a lot of red and white decorations this year, but I decided not to fuss that much. If I decide to go white for spring, I’ll paint it then or ask Hubby to make a new one. And you know, I really don’t think he would mind!
I took a faux pine garland that we already had and just stuffed it into the box. Then, I added a few pine cones and some glittery red ornaments, just for some added color.
On a whim, I also added a couple of tea lights under the branches. You can’t see them too well here, but you can when you are sitting at the table. I love the added glow!
I also jumped on the wood slice ornament bandwagon, and used the wood slices to spell the word Noel.
I had my husband cut some slices when he was trimming our palo verde tree, so these are a little different than most of the wood ornaments out there. I’m using some for tree ornaments, but I thought they would look nice hanging from the pine branches in the centerpiece. You can see that the palo verde bark is slightly green, so these look a little bit different.
I painted the centers red, and then I wrote the letters with a white paint pen and used some red and white twine to tie the slices to the pine garland.
Making the wood slice ornaments took the most time. Other than that, this little rustic Christmas centerpiece was super simple, and it looks so nice in the dining room.
I’ve been taking pictures of my other decorations, and I hope to show you those real soon. We’re supposed to get more rain this weekend, so I’m going as fast as I can.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!
