Hello Everyone,
Are you in the middle of a Christmas decorating frenzy? I know that trying to get everything out of the boxes and into place has been just the teeniest bit overwhelming, but it’s just about done. In the middle of the crazy weekend, I put together a very simple and thrifty centerpiece, using a thrift-store find, some Dollar Store ornaments and some items I had on hand.
I found this rather beat-up star basket a few weeks ago at the local Goodwill, and I knew I could use it for Christmas decorating.
As you can see, the paint is peeling off, and the finish is very dull. However, never fear, for spray paint is here! Yep, spray paint can fix just about anything! After a quick coat of gold spray paint, the little star was nice and shiny and bright!
A shining star deserves some shiny ornaments, and I found these pretty white and gold ornaments at the Dollar Store. Seriously, they have some great stuff there!
I found some gold berries and a pearl garland in my tree-trimming stash and used these along with the ornaments. Because I like to mix things up, I added some rustic twig balls to the arrangement. This is how it looks now.
Do you like it?
I think it looks extra special in the afternoon sun.
I absolutely love the combination of white and gold at Christmas! Not bad for a thrifty trash-to-treasure project. Tres chic! Why spend money on pricey Christmas decorations when you can create something beautiful on your own?
Thanks so much for stopping by–I really appreciate your visit. Have an awesome day!
Dee 🙂
