Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pinch salt
  • cups eggnog
  • 1 loaf brioche bread 8-10 slices

Instructions

  • In a shallow bowl or baking dish, beat the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
  • Whisk in the eggnog until all ingredients are well combined
  • Heat a griddle or skillet until hot. Then, melt butter on skillet
  • Dip bread slices into batter, making sure both sides are well coated, and shake off excess batter
  • Place battered bread slices on griddle, and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until both sides are golden brown

Notes

Tip - Keep cooked French toast warm in oven on a baking sheet until all slices are cooked.
Total cooking time depends on how many pieces of toast you are making and the size of the skilled or griddle.
For best results, use thick bread like challah, brioche, Texas toast or French bread. You can leave bread out for about an hour before cooking so that it dries slightly.
