Sausage Peppers and Onions

Italian sausages smothered in onions and peppers are perfect for a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

  • 6 Italian sausages mild or hot
  • 2 medium yellow onions sliced
  • 3 pieces bell peppers red, orange, yellow, cut into large
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil on medium heat, add the sausages, and cook until brown on both sides
  • Add the peppers, garlic, salt, pepper and onions, and cook until peppers and onions are soft and slightly brown.
  • Reduce heat, add red pepper flakes, if using, and simmer until ready to serve, stirring frequently
  • You can cut sausage into smaller pieces if desired
