For the Waffles
2
eggs
2
cups
milk
½
cup
melted butter
2
cups
all purpose flour
3
teaspoons
baking powder
1
tablespoon
dark brown sugar
½
cup
dark cocoa powder
½
teaspoon
sea salt
For the Strawberry Topping
1
pound
fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and diced

tablespoon
white sugar
Instructions
For the Waffles
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs
Add the milk, melted butter, flour, baking powder, brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt, and mix until well combined
Spray a Belgian waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray, and cook waffle batter according to manufacturer's directions
Serve immediately or keep waffles warm until batter is used up
For the Strawberry Topping
Mix the diced strawberries with the white sugar and let sit for about 30 minutes or until ready to serve
Notes
My waffle maker cooks two square waffles at a time. Cooking times and number of waffles may vary with different waffle irons.
