Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows

Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows is an easy holiday side dish made with mashed sweet potatoes and broiled marshmallows. A delicious addition to Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and easy to make ahead and reheat!

  • 5 large cooked sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • mini marshmallows


  • Remove cooked sweet potatoes from jackets, and place in large bowl or casserole dish
  • Add brown sugar, maple syrup, butter and cinnamon, and mash well
  • Spread evenly in casserole dish, and smooth top with spoon
  • Add enough marshmallows to cover sweet potatoes, and broil for about 5 minutes or until marshmallows are golden brown
  • Serve immediately


To make ahead -- Follow first 3 steps, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to use.
To reheat -- Remove plastic wrap, and place casserole dish in microwave, air fryer oven or regular oven, and cook until heated through. Top with marshmallows, and broil until golden brown. You may have to add more butter or maple syrup to reach desired consistency.
