Homemade Garlic Bread Recipe

This Homemade Garlic Bread Recipe with regular bread or French bread, garlic powder, garlic cloves, butter and Parmesan cheese is easy to make and the perfect side dish for your favorite pasta. Buttery, crispy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread sliced into 1-inch slices
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick, softened
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese plus extra for topping
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees f
  • Mix the softened butter, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, garlic powder and dried parsley in a small bowl
  • Place sliced bread on rimmed baking sheet
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over bread slices. Top with extra Parmesan cheese, if desired
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until top and edges are golden brown

Notes

To make garlic bread slices with fresh garlic only, leave out the garlic powder.
You can leave out the fresh garlic to make garlic bread with garlic powder only.
Optional method -- Slice loaf in half, lengthwise, spread garlic mixture on each half and bake. Then, slice bread horizontally into thin slices and serve.
