- 8 ounce wheel of Brie
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- ¼ cup orange marmalade
- ¼ cup dried cranberries
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
Thaw the puff pastry according to package directions
Preheat oven to 400℉
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Place the thawed puff pastry sheet on a flat surface and roll gently with rolling pin until even and soft
Place the wheel of Brie on the center of puff pastry
Spread orange marmalade over the top of the Brie, and top with dried cranberries
Quickly flip Brie over so that marmalade side is touching the pastry. Gently fold the edges of puff pastry over the wheel of Brie, and press together to seal
Flip the Brie over and place on prepared baking sheet so that smooth side is on top
Crack an egg into a small bowl, and whisk in 1 tablespoon water with fork. Use pastry brush or silicone brush to apply egg wash over pastry
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until pastry is golden and flaky
Remove from oven and allow to rest for 15 minutes or so before serving
You can roll the pastry out thinner and trim excess pastry if you want. You can use mini cookie cutters and cut out shapes from excess pastry and use to decorate the dough before baking.
You can also have the folded edges of pastry on top of the Brie if desired -- don't flip it over when preparing.
Use your favorite flavor of jam here. Apricot or raspberry are good here.
