Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Make perfect hard boiled eggs that are easy to peel and come out perfectly cooked every time using this easy boiled egg recipe. Use them for salads, appetizers, breakfast or a quick snack!

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • water
  • ice

Instructions

  • Place the eggs in a pot
  • Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about an inch
  • Cover the pot, and bring to a boil over medium heat
  • Reduce to a simmer, place the lid slightly ajar on the pot, and cook for 15 minutes
  • Remove from heat, and place in a large bowl filled with ice water
  • After 5 minutes, remove the eggs, and store in the refrigerator, or peel, and eat

Notes

If you like your egg yolk a little softer, cook for 12 minutes.
Keep an eye on the eggs so they don't overcook. As soon as the water boils, reduce the heat, and keep the lid slightly ajar so the water doesn't boil again.
