Cheesy Jalapeno Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 6 cloves garlic peeled and sliced in half
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 jalapeno pepper chopped and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Slice loaf in half, lengthwise,and place on lined baking sheet
  • In a small saucepan, melt butter along with garlic, olive oil and jalapeno peppers over low heat
  • Brush the melted butter and jalapenos over the bread, and discard the garlic pieces
  • Sprinkle bread with garlic powder, and top with cheese
  • Add sliced jalapeno peppers over top, if desired
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro, if desired
