Swiss Chicken Casserole

This Swiss chicken casserole recipe combines tender chicken, melted cheese and green beans with a creamy sauce and crispy topping. Ready in 35 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into smaller pieces
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup chicken broth divided
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ pound Swiss cheese slices
  • ½ pound frozen green beans
  • 6 ounces boxed stuffing mix any brand
  • 5 tablespoons butter cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉, and spray a casserole dish with non-stick spray
  • Place chicken in an even layer on the bottom of the baking dish
  • Season with sea salt and pepper
  • Brush mustard on top of chicken
  • In a small bowl, mix the soup, ¼ cup of broth, Italian seasoning and garlic powder until blended
  • Pour soup mixture evenly over chicken
  • Top with Swiss cheese
  • Add green beans
  • Sprinkle stuffing on top of casserole, pour remaining broth evenly over stuffing, and dot with butter
  • Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until casserole is bubbling, stuffing is golden brown, and chicken temperature is 165℉ according to a meat thermometer

Notes

If you use whole chicken breasts, the casserole will take about an hour to bake.
You can sub Havarti or Muenster cheese for the Swiss.
