    Cheeseburger Sliders

    Hi There!

So, who's excited about the Super Bowl this year? Normally, I'm not much of a pro football fan unless the Steelers or Cardinals are playing, but hey -- the big game is in Arizona this year, so that makes it a tad more interesting. Hubby and I even took the little man to see some of the preparations around the stadium, and he was so excited! I even posted a quick picture on Instagram.

Anyway, even though we aren't having a party, we still like to make some tasty game day grub and just enjoy the game and the commercials. Of course, the food has to be easy to make and eat, and these cheeseburger sliders are a big hit in our house!

Cheeseburger sliders aren't just for game day. In fact, I think they're easier to make than regular burgers, and they're a lot easier for little hands to handle. Plus, I think the sliders are a lot less filling!

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds lean ground beef
    • 1 tablespoon dried minced onions
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • ½ large onion, diced
    • Your favorite cheese for topping
    • Kings Hawaiian Rolls or any mini hamburger buns

    Directions

Add the dried onions, salt and pepper to the ground beef and mix well.
Form into small balls about the size of a golf ball, and press to form small patties.
Place on wax paper until all patties are formed.
Add some olive oil to the bottom of a large frying pan, and cook hamburger patties along with diced onions on medium heat.
Flip patties over when the first side is brown, and finish cooking until juices are clear and the internal temperature is at least 160 degrees.
Top with cheese and the cooked onions, and place on buns, and top with your favorite fixings!

I like to put all of the sliders on a large platter and let everyone add their own toppings. I load my little cheeseburgers up with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard -- the works! The kiddos tend to favor just loads of ketchup or barbecue sauce, but you can add just about anything.

Add some chips to your plate and you're good to go. Or, load your plate up with more of your favorite game day snacks and sides.

We got about 30 of these little sliders from this recipe, and they make great leftovers too -- perfect to warm up on a busy weeknight!

What's your favorite food to have on game day? And on Super Bowl Sunday, do you like the game or just the commercials?

    Thanks so much for visiting!

Thanks, Jen! My kids love them because they can handle the burgers without them falling apart. 🙂
