recipe for no bake chocolate peanut butter bars made with chocolate rice krispies and jif whips

You never know when you'll get a sudden attack of the munchies, so I'm a huge fan of treats that are quick and easy to make, especially no-bake desserts and snack bars. I honestly love them, and the kids do too -- probably because they know they can be enjoying a tasty treat in a matter of minutes. And, since you don't have to turn the oven on, you can make them any time at all. So when I made these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispy Bars, they were a big hit with the entire family!

The inspiration for these yummy bars came when I made some peanut butter orange yogurt dip for an after-school snack. We had picked up a few Jif Whips, and the kids really wanted to try the recipe that was featured on the lid of the chocolate peanut butter variety. I did make a few modifications to the recipe to suit our own tastes.

Actually, you could easily make this recipe with any brand of chocolate peanut butter, but since the recipe was on the container we had, that's what we used. And no, this is NOT sponsored, we just like the stuff!

    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ½ cup chocolate chips

chocolate peanut butter rice krispies treats with peanut butter and chocolate frosting

These crispy bars are crunchy, chewy and chocolaty -- in other words, perfect! And even though there is peanut butter in the recipe, you don't get a heavy peanut butter taste.

You could probably leave off the frosting, but that extra layer of creamy chocolate just takes this treat to a whole new level.

My little Diva and I made these no bake chocolate peanut butter crispy bars after dinner last night, and it only took less than 30 minutes before we were enjoying them for dessert. We even shared them with the rest of the family!

Well, you would have had me at the mention of peanut butter, but then you added chocolate......has there ever been a better combo? I doubt it!
