I am a complete sucker for easy desserts – the easier, the better. And like my and strawberry Jello Pie, key lime pie, and orange creamsicle pie, this easy lemonade pie is one of the easiest dessert recipes you can make.

The secret ingredient in this no bake dessert is a Kool-aid packet — yes, the childhood favorite you probably loved as a kid! The Kool-Aid is the surprise ingredient here, and that’s why I wanted to make this. Nobody believes this delicious pie is made with a drink mix!

I first saw this old fashioned no bake kool aid pie recipe at a church potluck a few years ago, but I had pretty much forgotten about it. But, over the weekend, I found this old recipe when I was cleaning off the bookcase because our new puppy thought that my old cookbooks looked very tasty!

Simple Ingredients

You only need 4 ingredients for this incredibly easy no bake kool aid pie recipe. You can find them in most grocery stores:

  • Packet of Kool-Aid — I used lemonade here
  • Sweetened condensed milk — not evaporated milk!
  • 8 oz container of Cool Whip — or any whipped topping
  • Graham cracker pie crust

How to Make Kool Aid Pie

First, add the packet of Koolaid, sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip to a large bowl. By the way, you can use your favorite flavors here.

If you’re not a lemon lover, use the same basic recipe and make a different flavor.

Next, mix all of the ingredients together, using a silicone spatula. If you don’t have a spatula, just use a large spoon or wooden spoon.

The mixture should be smooth and creamy when you’re done mixing.

Oh, and whatever you do, don’t try to taste the filling until you add the sweetened condensed milk. Unsweetened kool-aid is tart! My daughter and I tried it, and whoa, is that sour!

Note — The pie filling is not bright yellow. It’s actually on the pale side. If you want the pie filling to look more like lemon custard, you can add a few drops of yellow food coloring.

Then, spoon the lemon pie filling into the graham cracker pie shell. Use the spatula to smooth the filling so that it’s nice and even.

Chilling Time

Pop the pie into the refrigerator for an hour or two so it firms up. Keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to eat, and that’s it.

I like to top this easy lemonade pie with more whipped topping and a lemon slice or two, just to make it pretty. Serve it with additional lemon slices and more whipped topping or whipped cream for an extra special dessert!

Storage

Store any leftover kool-aid pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should keep well for 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, you can freeze the pie. Just defrost it in the fridge for few hours when you’re ready to eat.

Variations

There are a couple of ways to customize this no bake pie to your liking.

Use your favorite flavor of kool-aid. We love pink lemonade, and strawberry kool-aid is perfect for making strawberry pie! You can also try the black cherry, blue raspberry or tropical punch kool-aid flavor.

Or, use your favorite color! The flavor possibilities are endless! You can even make mini kool-aid pies for birthday parties or to celebrate summer vacation!

I have a bad habit of writing things down and sticking scraps of paper in cookbooks. My grandma did the same thing, which is why I’m trying to move these old recipes onto the blog before anything happens to them

Could you do the same with orange or lime? My boys are obsessed with citrus year round so I’m always trying to change it up.
