If you love the classic creamy orange flavors of creamsicles or dreamsicles, you will definitely want to make this no bake orange creamsicle pie! This easy recipe is one of the easiest and most delicious no bake desserts ever!

Not only is this easy pie a great choice for the hot summer months, but it's also ideal for holidays, potlucks or whenever you need an easy dessert!

If no bake pies are your jam, try my no bake strawberry Jello pie, no bake eggnog pie, Kool Aid pie or no bake chocolate pudding pie.

orange jello, cool whip, water, graham cracker pie crust and mandarin oranges

    Ingredients

You only need 4 ingredients for this easy orange pie, and one of them is water! You can find them in your grocery store.

    • Orange Jell-o gelatin -- 3 oz box
    • Boiling water
    • Ice cold water
    • Cool Whip -- or whipped topping, thawed
    • Graham cracker pie crust -- 9 inch or 10 inch pie crust
    • Mandarin orange slices -- optional for garnish

How to Make No Bake Orange Creamsicle Pie

First, boil some water and add enough ice to water to make 1 cup ice water. Then, add the orange jello powder to a large bowl.

Pour in the hot water and whisk the ingredients together for about 2 minutes or until the gelatin is dissolved.

whisk orange jello gelatin and boiling water in mixing bowl

Next, pour in the ice cold water and whisk for another minute or until the mixture is frothy.

Spoon the Cool Whip into the Jello. You can stir or whisk the mixture until it's nice and creamy. It should be a pale orange color.

mix cool whip whipped topping into orange jello mixture

Refrigerate the Jello mixture for about 30 minutes or until it's thick. Then, pour or spoon the creamsicle filling into the graham cracker crust.

Don't fill the pie crust over the edge. I used a 9-inch pie shell for this pie recipe, and we had some leftover filling.

I just put the leftover pie filling back in the fridge, and the kids ate it later! If you use a 10 inch prepared graham cracker crust, all of the filling will fit.

    Chilling Time

Place the Jello pie into the fridge. This pie is no bake, but it does take about 4 hours to chill in the refrigerator.

I recommend making it early the day you need it or, even better, let it chill overnight.

You can make creamsicle pie a day or 2 ahead of time, and it's super easy to slice.

    How to Store

Store orange Jell-O chiffon pie in covered or in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It'll last 3 to 4 days -- if you can resist it that long!

I don't recommend freezing this Jello creamsicle pie as it won't thaw well and may become runny.

    Variations

There are a couple ways to customize this easy pie recipe to your liking.

For a little extra texture, add chopped Mandarin oranges or orange zest to your pie. Add them to the Cool Whip and Jell-O mixture before letting it sit in the fridge.

Incorporate fresh oranges by decorating the top of the pie with orange slices or orange zest. Maraschino cherries also look super cute on the pie!

I like to keep this a super easy pie recipe, but you can use a homemade graham cracker crust, or make your own whipped topping with heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla.

For a more intense creamsicle flavor, use ice cold fresh orange juice instead of the ice cold water.

Of course, this jello pie can be made with any gelatin flavor. I really do love having the taste of an orange creamsicle ice cream treat in a light, fluffy pie though!

You can use any flavor Jello or brand of powdered gelatin. Use the small 3 oz box.
Make sure hot water is boiling or near boiling and cold water is ice cold for best results.
