The holidays are coming up, and most of us are making plans to celebrate them along with our family and friends. But for many of the brave men and women in the U.S. military, spending the holidays with their loved ones isn’t possible. So, I’m partnering with Marie Callender’s today to talk about an easy way to bring the comforts of home to our troops overseas.
I have several family members who served in the military. My mom’s oldest brothers served in World War II, and my dad served in Vietnam. He’s retired now, but I remember that it was never easy for our family whenever he was away.
My parents still shop at the nearby commissary, and every so often, they’ll take a couple the grand kids along with them. So now my little guy is fascinated with planes and says he wants to be pilot some day. Last year, my dad even bought him a kid-sized uniform!
So I’m more than happy to support our troops, and the Comforts from Home program is probably the easiest way ever! Just look for the specially marked packages of Marie Callender’s products in your local store — you can’t miss them.
I bought a few frozen entrees for the Hubs to take to work and for us to have at home. He’s crazy about Alfredo anything, and as much as I love to cook, our schedules are chaotic this time of year, and it’s always nice to have a back-up plan.
On the back of the box, you’ll find instructions on how you can participate in the Comforts from Home program, which is made possible through a partnership between Marie Callender’s and the United Service Organizations. Marie Callender’s has teamed up with the USO to help ensure that our troops have a chance to celebrate the holidays even when they’re far away from home.
Just go to ComfortsFromHome.com and enter the code from the box. For every entry by 1/29/2016 of an 8-digit code found on participating products, Marie Callender’s will donate $.50 to the USO Operation Celebration program. Guaranteed minimum donation: $100,000. Maximum donation: $300,000. Limit 5 code entries per person/computer each day. Valid in U.S. Only.
How easy is that?! Donations may be used for everything from seasonal meals to holiday entertainment, and last year Marie Callender’s was able to donate $250,000 to the USO for our troops overseas.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
