Hi There!

Holiday preparations are in full swing at my home, and the weather is cool and perfect for Christmas!  We’ve also had the first sickness of the season, which seems to happen about this time every year and just seems to go with the territory! My poor little guy! And, the worst part is that the kids all seem to catch these things one by one — ugh!

Anyway, my kids all love Legos, to some degree, and this weekend, my older daughter made some awesome Lego earrings. Even if they’re not huge Lego fans, all of the girls will wear Lego earrings because they really are different and very cool. Plus, if you already have the pieces, you can make some very inexpensive jewelry to give as gifts. The last time we made some, my daughter made some for me, and I just loved them. I even tried to talk the kiddos into sharing the light sabers they have, but they absolutely wouldn’t hear of it! So, these are little button earrings, but they’re super cute!

You can make these Lego earrings in a matter of minutes, and they are one of the easiest crafts ever! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Round Lego buttons
  • Earring posts
  • Earring backs
  • Glue

We have tons of Legos in our home, and my daughter chose red, green and light blue to work with. You can get the earring backs in your local craft store.

We tried using hot glue before, and while it worked, we found that a lot of the Legos eventually separated from the posts over time. E6000 would work, but I honestly can’t stand the smell. If you have a favorite glue, by all means, use it. There are so many different glues out there, but we went with Tacky Glue this time. So far, no problem.

We used a toothpick to apply a small amount of glue to the earring backs, and then we pressed a Lego piece onto the glue.

When the glue dries, you can start wearing the earrings. How easy is that?! And, these little gems are perfect for adding a little bit of colorful whimsy to your wardrobe.

In the past, we’ve used larger Legos, but these little buttons are my favorite. My daughter is making a bunch for her friends, and maybe, she’ll think of her mom too! Hint Hint!

Would you wear Lego earrings? Do you make your own jewelry? If so, I would love to hear all about it. I’m always looking for inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by — I love having visitors!
