We’re taking a super short break from easy recipes today and talking about easy homemade gifts, instead. And while this isn’t a food post, you can make this sugar scrub entirely with supplies from your kitchen. You probably have everything you need in your pantry right now!
My girls and I love, love, love making our own scrubs. We love using them, and we love giving them as gifts. For Christmas last year, we made a peppermint vanilla sugar scrub that was a big hit with everyone who tried it. It’s also super popular on the blog.
So last summer, I made a chocolate body scrub that the girls absolutely loved — it smelled incredible! So for the holidays, we decided to combine chocolate and peppermint into one delicious scrub. And friends, this one’s a keeper! Just think of it as a peppermint mocha for your skin!
Anyway, this DIY sugar scrub is easy, inexpensive and makes a wonderful gift for family, friends, teachers and even your co-workers. Because everyone deserves to be pampered, right?
Just mix the dry ingredients in a small bowl.
Then, add some coconut oil. If it’s solid, just warm it up until it’s slightly soft.
Next, add peppermint and vanilla extracts. You can also use essential oils if you have them.
I like to put the mixture into a half-pint jar and tie a festive ribbon around it. You can easily double the batch and put it into smaller containers if you’re making a bunch for gifts.

Happy Holidays,
Is it OK to use Cacao Powder in place of Cocoa?
I haven’t tried it, but I believe you can.
Hi Dee! ๐ I’m just wondering how many little gifts your recipe would yield? Trying to make a shopping list for the ingredients. Thanks! ๐
It makes about 1 cup, and fits into a half-pint mason jar. You can easily double the recipe. We usually pack it into smaller containers for gifts! ๐
If I made this I don’t think I’d ever get out of the bathtub! Must smell wonderful!
It really does! My teen took it, so I have to make more. ๐
