    Chocolate Cookie Bar Sundae

    Hello, Hello!

I've been craving chocolate like crazy lately, which is to say even more so than usual. If you're a chocolate lover like I am, you'll understand. At first, I didn't know why I was dreaming about chocolate so much, but well, hello -- It's almost Valentine's Day! And that means that chocolate is pretty much everywhere right now.

To appease the craving monster, I decided to make an easy chocolaty desert. And since I had a couple of the kiddos home with me, we thought a brownie sundae sounded wonderful. I should mention that it's been very warm here in the desert! Since I couldn't find my favorite brownie recipe, I tried something slightly different, and we made this scrumptious Chocolate Cookie Bar Sundae, instead.

The kids and I came up with a recipe for chocolate chip cookie bars about a year or so ago, and then we tweaked it a little to create a chocolate version. So I made the Decadent Chocolate Cookie Bars as the base for the sundae. The outer layer is slightly crisp, and the inner layer is soft, chewy and filled with chocolate and just a hint of cinnamon.

Making the sundae is easy. You just cut a nice big square of the chocolate cookie bar and top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Then, you top it off with some whipped cream or whipped topping and drizzle some of your favorite chocolate syrup over the whole thing. Since it's almost Valentine's Day, I added a few chocolate heart sprinkles on the top.

My taste testers and I agreed that this chocolate cookie bar sundae was awesome, and it completely satisfied our chocolate cravings -- almost too well, since more than half the pan is gone already -- ouch! Of course a brownie would work too -- it's the chocolate that counts, right?!

Do you have a favorite chocolate dessert? I'm always on the lookout for new chocolate inspiration!

Thanks for visiting today -- take care!

Thanks, Cathy. The entire pan is gone already, but I'm blaming it on the kids! 🙂
