Hi friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed a terrific Easter, and I have to say that the bunny was way too kind with the candy this year, although the grandparents also helped! While we were sitting out on the patio after dinner, I was looking at the colorful spring flowers we have on the patio, and it occurred to me that the pots could really use a little sprucing up.

A few months ago, I painted some pots in the front yard, and I was thrilled when the nice folks at Hometalk recently asked me to curate a collection of Creative Ways to Decorate Flower Pots. And now that I have some more planters to paint, I know exactly where to look for inspiration!

Painted Flower Pots — You can easily make over plain plastic pots with a little spray paint. When I wanted all of the pots in the front yard to match, I used oil rubbed bronze spray paint on two of them. Can you tell which pot is the original?

DIY Dollar Store Painted Flower Pots — The flower pots in our backyard are all terra cotta, so I loved how Concord Cottage transformed these Dollar Store flower pots with some pretty acrylic paint colors!

I also loved these House Number Flower Pots from DIY Showoff. What a creative way to display your address!

DIY Tiered Flower Pots from Two It Yourself — If you want a completely unique look for your yard, you can decorate flower pots and then stack them on top of each other. This would also make a fun birthday or Mother’s Day gift!

Chalkboard Flower Pots from Confessions of a Plate Addict — I love using chalkboard labels, and this is a super easy way to add some flair to plain pots. This is another creative gift idea, and it would also be perfect for Teacher Appreciation Week!

There were so many creative ways to decorate flower pots, including fun ideas for repurposing everyday items into cute containers for your flowers and plants. I hope you’ll check out the rest of my finds on the Hometalk Board I put together. Happy Spring!
