    No-Sew AG Doll Valentine's Outfit

    Hi Everyone!

Over the weekend, my little Diva and I put together an adorable no-sew Valentine's Day outfit for an American Girl doll. In November, she made a no-sew Christmas outfit for one of her AG dolls out of a sock, and last month, she also made her doll a cute beanie. All I can say is, hurrah for socks--you can make the cutest little outfits for your doll, even if you can't sew a stitch!

This time, we actually used two socks so that we could make a beanie and matching long skirt. We even had enough material to make a coordinating infinity scarf. To make the outfit complete, we bought a plain T-shirt from Michael's and embellished it with a few stick-on crystal hearts.

To make the outfit, the Diva cut the foot off of one sock, and this became the beanie.

Then, she cut the leg off of the other sock, and this became the long skirt.

Here are the two pieces you will end up with after cutting the socks. The one on the left is the long skirt. The cuff is the bottom of the skirt, and the cut part is the top--just roll the top a little bit, and it creates a relaxed waist. The cut edge of the hat is rolled up, as well, and this gives it an even, finished look. We also cut off part of the other cuff to create an infinity scarf. Just like the other pieces, you roll the fabric so that it covers the cut edges.

After making the cuts, we added the crystal hearts to the hat band and the shirt. After all, a girl needs her bling! And here we have the completed outfit-isn't it absolutely adorable?!

We used different sized crystals in varying shades of pink for added sparkle. The T-shirt has a Velcro closure, which make it super easy to take on and off, and the skirt just slides on and off too. This makes it easy for little hands to change the outfit, and you won't be pestered to help whenever your AG doll fan decides to have a fashion show! Here is a close-up of the hat, shirt and scarf.

If you want a different look, you can also use the scarf as a headband!

So what do you think? Tres chic, n'est-ce pas? I seriously heart this outfit--I mean, I wish I could wear it myself!

The Diva and I are donating this cute ensemble as part of an upcoming American Girl Doll giveaway at Diana Rambles. Go check out her blog for all of the fantastic details.

In the meantime, my little AG Doll fanatic and I are going to make more no-sew doll outfits out of some cute socks we've been seeing in the stores lately.

Thanks so much for stopping by--have an awesome day!

    Dee 🙂

Won't it eventually fray at the edges?

We never had that problem with the thicker socks -- the edges just curled a little.

Yes -- adult or the long sport socks would work.
