A few weeks ago, I shared some Hawaiian BBQ Ham and Cheese sliders here on the blog. They're easy to make, super delicious, and my family loves them!. Actually, they enjoy them so much that I make them pretty often. I don't know about you, but if I have the same thing too frequently, I get bored with it. The Hubs, on the other hand, could eat his favorites every single day.

So, I decided to try something a little bit different, and I made a tray of these easy pepperoni pizza sliders. These little sandwiches taste almost exactly like a cheesy pepperoni pizza, but they're so much easier to make. These are a lot like Hawaiian BBQ sliders except that the meat and sauce are different.

You can use your favorite tomato-based pasta sauce here. And since you don't need that much of it, you can even use leftover spaghetti sauce if you have any.

I used Hawaiian rolls for this recipe, but any small roll is fine. And, all you do is brush a thin layer of sauce on the bottoms of the rolls. Then, you top that with provolone cheese and several thin slices of pepperoni.

I wanted to mimic the taste of pizza crust, so I mixed some Italian seasoning with some melted butter. Then, I brushed the mixture on the tops of the rolls.

The seasoning kind of bakes into the rolls, and it's almost like eating a pizza crust sandwich. When the sliders are done, the cheese bubbles up and runs onto the tray. It's a little bit messy, but oh, so good and cheesy!

You gotta love all of that ooey, gooey, stretchy cheese! I used provolone cheese, but mozzarella would definitely work too.

Pepperoni Pizza Sliders with cheese on Hawaiian rolls

The good news is that my family absolutely inhaled these pepperoni pizza sliders, and since these were such a big hit, I started making them along with the Hawaiian BBQ sliders. I just make a big tray of sandwiches, and people choose what they want.

These are perfect when you need to get dinner on the table fast. And since it's almost football season, I'm thinking that these would make awesome game day appetizers.

If you decide to make them, let me know what you think.

    Have a wonderful day, friends!
