Hi Friends! I just took a peek at the calendar and realized that Mother’s Day will be here before you know it — unbelievable, right?! That means it’s time to get busy making presents for mom’s special day. Personally, I love getting homemade gifts from the kids, and even though we tend to get bombarded by ads for jewelry, perfume and flowers right about now, nothing beats a handmade gift. So I’ve put together a few super easy DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas that are perfect for both little kids and bigger kids to make.
Painted Candle Holder
My daughter made this cute candle holder in school a couple of years ago, and it’s the kind of craft that is perfect for kids of all ages. Kids can use craft paint to decorate an empty mason jar, and you can keep a small candle or battery operated candle inside.
Painted Jars with Fingerprint Art
If you have any empty glass jars in your home, you can turn them into adorable containers for just about anything, simply by covering them with paint. I used spray paint on these, and then I had the kids make flowers and lady bugs with their fingerprints. So don’t throw out those empty salsa or queso jars!
Decorated Flower Pots
Many moms and grandmas love plants, and they would probably love some pretty flower pots for those plants. You can even have the kids use their fingerprints to make hearts or polka dots!
Homemade Salt Scrub
Mother’s Day is the perfect time to pamper mom, but body products can be expensive. Salt scrubs are super easy and inexpensive to make, so why not create your own?
Homemade Sugar Scrub
Sugar scrubs are just as easy to whip up as salt scrubs and so gentle that mom can use them daily.
DIY Painted Coffee Mugs
Whether your mom likes coffee or tea, she’ll love drinking her favorite beverage even more if it comes in a personalized mug. And, there are so many different ways to personalize it!
I hope these easy DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas help unleash your own creativity. Now I just need to drop a few hints to my own kiddos.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
