Blackstone Shrimp

This easy recipe for shrimp on the Blackstone griddle is probably one of the quickest dinners you can make. It’s definitely one of the quickest Blackstone recipes we’ve made and perfect for feeding a hungry family, since you can cook a lot of shrimp at once.

So, if you want to grill something other than the usual burgers, steak, chicken or pork chops, this easy seafood supper in a nice change. We like to serve this garlic butter shrimp in place of chicken with this summer pasta. You could also serve it over rice or fresh greens or in tacos.

raw shrimp, olive oil, butter, garlic, lemon, spices.

Ingredient Notes

Here’s everything you need to make it. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card below.

  • Raw shrimp — Large shrimp works best since smaller pieces will cook too fast and may dry out. Precooked shrimp will definitely overcook on the griddle. Fresh or frozen will work, just be sure it is fully thawed before cooking. Be sure to peel and devein the shrimp before cooking if it is not already prepared when you buy it. You can remove the tails or leave them on.
  • Butter and olive oil — for flavor
  • Seasonings — sea salt, black pepper, garlic cloves and Italian seasoning. You can sub dried parsley or herbes de Provence if you prefer
  • Lemon — a squirt of fresh lemon juice at the end adds a burst of freshness

How to Cook Shrimp on the Blackstone Griddle

First, you’ll prep the shrimp as needed. Pat dry with a paper towel, and mix with the olive oil and seasonings in a bowl. Heat the griddle to medium heat, add a little avocado oil, then add the shrimp. Cook for about 2 minutes per side, adding the butter when you flip them. When the shrimp are done, squeeze the lemon over the shrimps before removing them to a clean foil tray or platter.

Recipe Tips

Look for peeled and deveined shrimp to make the prep work easier. You can easily peel off the tails if you don’t want them on.

Shrimp are done when they turn turn pink and curl into a “c” shape. Don’t let them curl too tightly or they will be tough, although you can leave them cook a little longer if you want more of a crust.
