Easy Easter Bark Recipe

Easy Easter bunny bark is one of my kids’ favorite Easter desserts. It’s a very easy recipe that is basically melted chocolate or white chocolate decorated with seasonal candy. It’s fun to munch on and makes a delicious gift to share with friends and neighbors.

We used to make plain bark, but we recently started making bunny bark with pretzels. The sweet and salty treat is irresistible! Plus, the pretzels help cut down on the sweetness of the white chocolate. I’ll give the directions for both ways.

We make candy bark for Christmas, Halloween and even red, white and blue bark for patriotic holidays like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. So, if you’re looking for a super easy Easter dessert, you need to make some bark! If you can use the microwave, you can make this Easter bunny tail bark!

Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients to make Bunny bark. You can find them in your grocery store or craft store. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card below.

  • White chocolate chips
  • Candy melts in spring pastel colors
  • Spring M & M’s or similar pastel candies — You can also use jelly beans, your favorite Easter candies or leftover Easter candy
  • Mini eggs
  • Pastel sprinkles
  • Mini marshmallow bits
  • Pretzel snaps — optional

Instead of using regular chocolate, we bought a bunch of different colored candy coating. Normally, I’d be all about the dark chocolate, but since this is spring, it’s all about the lighter colors.

How to Make Easter Bunny Bark

First, melt the white chocolate chips and candy coating in separate bowls. Then, pour the different colors on a baking sheet, and then you swirl them all together with a toothpick.

I recommend lining the baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. It makes clean-up much easier!

That’s just the basics. The fun part is adding your favorite Easter candy and whatever colorful toppings you want.

We used spring M & M’s and Cadbury mini eggs. And for extra fun, we added some mini mini marshmallow bits because they reminded us of little bunny tails.

How to Make Easter Bark with Pretzels

To make the pretzel bark version, line pretzel snaps in an even row on the baking sheet. Then, pour melted white chocolate on top of the pretzel layer. Pour the melted candy coating on top of the chocolate layer, and swirl the layers with a knife or toothpick.

I popped the pretzel bark into the fridge to set. And after a few minutes, it was ready to eat. Just break the bark into smaller pieces with a knife or your hands, and that’s it! You can serve the bark in cups or on a plate.

How to Store

Store bunny bark in an airtight container at room temperature. You can refrigerate the bark if your house is warm. This sweet treat lasts about 1 week — if it lasts that long.

This Easter Bunny Tail Candy Bark did not last long in our house at all. Of course the kiddos were home, so I expected that!

Recipe Tips and Substitutions

Follow directions on the package for melting chocolate in the microwave Generally, you always want to melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval. You can also use a double boiler to melt the chocolate on the stove.

You can use white chocolate chips, white candy melts or almond bark for the base layer. Or, use milk chocolate or dark chocolate.

If you don’t like pretzels, try crackers, graham crackers or sandwich cookies for the bottom layer.
