These garlic herb chicken wings are da bomb. Seriously. They’re easy to make, super flavorful, crispy, low carb, keto friendly and soooo good!

You guys, this easy chicken wings recipe is reason enough to go out and buy an air fryer. I’ve made baked chicken wings in the oven, but air fried wings are even better. Plus, you don’t have to heat up your house!

My family is really enjoying the air fryer recipes I’ve been testing, and these wings were a huge hit. You can serve the chicken as a simple dinner or make them for an easy game day appetizer. It’s a very versatile recipe!

I made these garlic wings in the Instant Pot Vortex air fryer, but any air fryer with racks or shelves will work. You can even do these in an air fryer with a basket, but the technique and cooking  time may be different.

To make air fryer garlic herb chicken wings, you’ll need:

  • Wings
  • Garlic powder
  • Sea Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Olive oil spray

That’s it! You probably have most of the ingredients already! I also recommend a meat thermometer to be on the safe side.

How to Make Crispy Garlic Herb Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer

First, mix the spices for the dry rub together. Then, pat your chicken wings dry, using a paper towel. This removes excess moisture, which will help the skin crisp up.

Season the wings all over with the dry rub, place the wings on the cooking trays, and spritz with olive oil spray. You might be tempted to cram as many wings as you can on the tray, but the air circulates better when there’s more room. I tried it, and the wings cooked better and were crispier when they weren’t crowded.

Then, preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees. I know a lot of people don’t bother preheating, but I usually do anyway.

Cook Time for Air Fryer Chicken Wings

The cook time for air fryer chicken wings will vary with the brand, but it took 25 minutes in the Instant Pot Vortex. I had two trays full of wings in there, and I rotated the trays about half way through.

Tip — Check your wings before the cook time ends. It’s easier to add more time if needed before it’s finished and the air fryer has to start up again.

I made a simple garlic butter sauce to pour over the wings. It’s optional, but it really enhances the flavor.

As  you can see, these dry rubbed garlic herb wings are crispy, golden brown and perfect! I wish you could taste how flavorful and delicious they are. So, don’t take my word for it — go make these beautiful wings, and see for yourself!
