We make frozen French fries in the air fryer almost every weekend. My favorite frozen fries are Arby’s frozen curly fries.

Since I don’t have an Arby’s near me, I love being able to make curly fries at home!

We’re a family of french fry lovers, and I usually make a batch of rosemary fries or waffle fries in one air fryer and zesty curly fries in another! I use my Ninja Foodi, but any air fryer will work here.

We serve these fries with Blackstone smash burgers or onion soup burgers made on the grill. They’re also great with chicken sandwiches or chicken tenders or air fryer hot dogs!

Ingredients

You only need 2 simple ingredients for these air fried crispy curly fries. They should be easy to find online or at your local grocery stores:

  • Arby’s frozen curly fries — we use a 22oz bag
  • Olive oil spray — optional, but keeps the fries from drying out

There are many varieties of curly fries, but Arby’s are our favorite brand of curly fries — and not just because of their super fun shape!

Arby’s fries come pre seasoned with garlic powder and onion powder, so the most you have to add is black pepper and salt to taste.

How to Make Arby’s Curly Fries in Air Fryer

First, preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees f. We use the entire bag. You want to add the frozen fries to the air fryer basket when they are still frozen and not starting to thaw.

This helps them stay nice and crispy and not get mushy.

Cooking Time

Set the cooking time to 10 minutes. Use kitchen tongs to turn the fries every 5 minutes or so, so they cook evenly.

There’s no need to keep the spiral fries in a single layer, because you’ll flip the fries multiple times throughout the air frying process. The size of your air fryer might not be big enough for a single layer anyway.

If you want crispier fries, you can add a minute or 2 to the cook time. All air fryers are different, so total cook time depends on the specific model and make of your air fryer.

When the curly fries are done to your liking, take them out of the basket and place the cooked fries in a serving bowl or on a platter.

You can season them with salt and pepper or let people add their own seasonings.

Serve these delicious fries with your favorite dipping sauce. We like ketchup, honey mustard, and thousand island sauce.

How to Store and Reheat

Store any leftover Arby’s twister fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they’ll last 2 to 3 days.

For crispy curly fries, reheat them in the air fryer.

Cooking Tips

There are a few tips for getting best results with your air fryer French fries.

Don’t let your fries sit out — move them right from the freezer into the air fryer. This prevents you from getting soggy curly fries.

Spray curly fries with a little bit of olive oil spray before air frying, so that they don’t dry out.

Use kitchen tongs to turn the fries during the cooking process.
