One of my favorite things about this easy recipe for honey mustard salmon is it comes together so quickly with hardly any prep. You just mix the sauce, pour it over the fish, and bake it. In less than 30 minutes, you are ready to eat. This easy dinner is truly a lifesaver on busy days when you want something quick but healthier than fast food. As a plus, my family loves this honey mustard glazed salmon, and even my pickiest eater has zero complaints!

Serve with a green salad or asparagus and rice or couscous for a complete meal. If you love easy salmon recipes, try my baked lemon butter salmon or this crispy grilled salmon.

Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make this delicious salmon. Full ingredients are in the printable recipe card below.

  • Salmon fillets — Look for ones that are about the same size so they cook evenly. You can also cut a larger filet into thinner sections. I used fresh salmon, but you can use frozen salmon.
  • Honey — any kind
  • Dijon Mustard — I prefer smooth, but grainy mustard will also work.
  • Spices — sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder
  • Olive oil — to prevent salmon from sticking to the baking dish

How to Make Honey Mustard Salmon

All you do is mix the sauce ingredients until smooth, place the salmon in a prepared baking dish, brush the honey mustard sauce over the salmon, and bake until it is cooked through and flakes easily. You can broil the salmon for the last minute or 2 to let the top get a little crispy.

Storage

Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in your refrigerator for 3-4 days. You can also freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.

Recipe Tips

Taste the sauce before using. You may want to adjust the mustard/honey ratio to suit your own tastes.

I chose dry spices to make this a quick dinner. You can use fresh minced garlic if you prefer.

The USDA recommends cooking salmon to 145 degrees F, but some people feel this is overcooked. Medium is around 130 degrees. I feel the sauce keeps the salmon nice and moist, so l usually cook it to 135-140 to allow for carryover temperature.
