If you love sweet dips, you have to try this delicious Nutella fruit dip. It's a super easy recipe made with everyone's favorite chocolate hazelnut spread, and it's perfect for a quick dessert or a fun snack.

While you can enjoy it on a stack of pancakes or French toast slices or eat Nutella straight out of the jar like my son does, this easy dip is a little sweeter.

So, if you're like me and aren't a huge fan of hazelnuts, I think you will still enjoy this creamy Nutella dip recipe.

    Nutella Fruit Dip Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients for this creamy Nutella dip recipe. They should be easy to find in your local grocery store.

    • Jar of Nutella -- You need almost a cup of hazelnut spread so get the larger jar if you want leftovers. A different brand or generic brand works fine.
    • Cream cheese -- Room temperature cream cheese works best
    • Cool Whip -- thawed, or any brand of whipped topping
    • Powdered sugar -- adds sweetness and thickens up the dip
    • Mini chocolate chips -- optional, for topping

How to Make Nutella Cheesecake Dip

First, cream the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer.

beat cream cheese in mixing bowl with electric mixer

Next, add the Nutella to the cream cheese. Beat with the mixer until well combined.

Then, mix in the powdered sugar. You can do a taste test at this point and add a little more sugar if you want an even sweeter dip.

Finally, use a spatula to gently fold in the Cool Whip. The dip should have a fluffy texture like the consistency of a fluffy chocolate frosting.

Place Nutella dip in a serving bowl to serve right away. Or, cover the mixing bowl and refrigerate to serve later.

It does not need to thicken up before serving.

    How to Store

Refrigerate the fruit dip in an airtight container for up to 4 days. It is a great dip to make ahead of time.

Place leftover Nutella dip back into the fridge after serving. Since it contains dairy, you don't want to leave it out longer than 2 hours for safety.

What to Serve with Nutella Dip

We love to add mini chocolate chips to the top of the dip before serving. You can leave the dip plain or add festive sprinkles or even crushed Oreo cookies.

Serve Nutella cheesecake fruit dip with fresh fruit, such as fresh strawberries, pear slices or apple slices.

It is delicious with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, cubes of pound cake or angel food cake or chocolate chip cookies.

    Recipe Tips

Use room temperature cream cheese for easy mixing.

Always fold whipped topping into the dip using a spatula for best texture.

For a sweeter dip, add more powdered sugar. You can reduce the sugar to ¼ cup for a stronger hazelnut flavor.

For a healthy fruit dip, use Greek yogurt or plain vanilla yogurt in place of cream cheese and whipped topping. You can also use heavy cream to make homemade whipped cream in place of Cool Whip.
