Hello Out There!
Everything is so busy this time of year that I’m always looking for quick and easy cooking, baking and decorating ideas. I love baking, and I love baking from scratch. In fact, I can be something of a food snob. However, when the weather cools down, I get the uncontrollable urge to bake, even though I don’t always have the time. I found these ready-to-bake cookies recently, and I thought it would be nice to have a yummy treat for the kids to enjoy after school.
I may be addicted to pumpkins, because I seem to be on a pumpkin kick lately! Anyway, I was getting ready to place the dough on the cookie sheet, but I just couldn’t resist jazzing it up a little bit. After rummaging through the pantry, I added dashes of cinnamon, nutmeg and a few M & M candies. I also cut each of the pre-cut pieces of dough in half, rolled them into balls and placed them on a cookie sheet.
I always use aluminum foil on cookie sheets because clean-up time is so much easier! After baking them at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes, they were ready to come out. By adding the extra spices, they smelled incredible!
They also tasted homemade, which is the result I was trying to achieve, and the house smelled wonderful – better than when I use my wax tarts. I actually left some for the kids!
These quick and easy cookies were a nice surprise for the kids, and I love being able to brighten their day – even when life is so busy. Sometimes, I think it’s the end result that matters the most!
Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!
