easy eggnog dessert dip with graham crackers and cookies

My kids absolutely love eggnog. In fact, they're a little more than slightly obsessed with the stuff! So as soon as those little cartons start popping up in the stores, we stock up.

They like to drink it straight up, but we like cooking with eggnog, too. In fact, one of my most popular recipes on the blog just happens to be an easy recipe for eggnog pie. We have this pie at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it always goes fast.

So the other day, my youngest daughter and I were experimenting in the kitchen, and we came up with this recipe for easy eggnog dessert dip. It's a lot like the eggnog pie filling, only it's lighter, fluffier and perfect for dipping! Actually, the inspiration for this dip recipe is our Pumpkin Pie Dessert Dip.  My family enjoyed that dessert dip so much that I wanted to try out some other flavors.

This eggnog dip is super easy to make and only takes about 5 minutes, tops. You can't beat that! It's a delicious party dip for the holiday season, and you can serve it as an appetizer or an easy dessert.

Not gonna lie, you can easily eat this eggnog dip with a spoon -- seriously! But, you'll want to serve it with gingersnaps, graham crackers or even pretzels. The sweet and salty combo is awesome!

    Just dip, dunk, and enjoy

Do you make the pudding with milk; then add the eggnog?

You use eggnog instead of milk. Just follow the directions in the recipe.

I find that the dip keeps well if covered for several days. I haven't tried freezing it before, though.

I would like to make this but, I do not eat or drink anything containing raw eggs. So, do you think it would harm the recipe if I brought the eggnog to the boil, simmered it for a few minutes, cooled it, then proceeded with the recipe?

Commercial eggnog contains pasteurized eggs, but you should be able to heat and cool it for use in this recipe as long as it is still fairly thick. 🙂

Can i substitute real whipped cream for the whipped topping? Will it hold up?

I love real whipped cream, but I don't think it would be as fluffy and thick as the whipped topping. You can definitely try, though. 🙂
