halloween oreos, eagle brand milk, heavy cream.

Ingredient Notes

Here’s what you’ll need for this fun treat. Full amounts are in the printable recipe card below.

  • Heavy whipping cream — half and half won’t work
  • Sweetened condensed milk — be sure not to get evaporated milk!
  • Halloween Oreos — or any brand of sandwich cookie
  • Halloween sprinkles — or small Halloween candy

How to Make Homemade Halloween Ice Cream

First, you’ll use an electric mixer to make whipped cream. Then, fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk. Stir in some of the crushed cookies and some of the filling. Spoon the ice cream mixture into a loaf pan, top with more crushed cookies and sprinkles, and freeze until firm. This takes about 6 hours or overnight.

Recipe Tips

Scrape off the orange filling from a few sandwich cookies, and add that to the mix. It gives the ice cream a light orange color — perfect for Halloween!

We like to use a mix of crushed cookies and larger broken-up cookies for better texture.

Allow plenty of time for the ice cream to set. Overnight is perfect!

Storage

Since this is a frozen dessert, it needs to be stored in the freezer. You can transfer to an airtight container or simply cover the pan with aluminum foil. It should last for up to 3 months.

It’s not absolutely necessary to scrape off some of the filling, but it gives the ice cream a light orange color, perfect for Halloween!
You can use any brand of sandwich cookie, but use one with Halloween colors for filling for best results.
Make sure you use sweetened condensed milk and not evaporated milk.
